Top Way manifold, installed separately or connected to a UFH mixing unit, can be used for many different system configurations. By using this kind of heating manifold it is possible to control the temperature of each single room, by installing the electrothermic actuators connected to a thermostat. The thermostat can control the water flow in each loop, setting the distributed energy quantity. The setting of the water flow in each loop can be also adjusted by the flow meters, which is integrated in the manifold. All the Top Way heating manifolds are tested during production procedure.

How are electrothermic heads supplied?

To allow the pressure test of the system, without connecting the electrothermic heads, they are supplied partially opened with micro switch closed. To make it work, the electrothermic actuator has to be connected, electrically opened and closed by disconnecting it. So the electrothermic head has to make one cycle.

Are the Top Way heating manifolds supplied with loops opened or closed?

The flow bar of the heating manifold is supplied with the flow meters or with the lockshields, which are in partially open position, when supplied. The return bar of the heating manifold is supplied with the valves, which are closed during production process.

Is it possible to install any kind of electrothermic head on the valves of the heating manifold?

No, in the market it is possible to find electrothermic heads with different threads, which allows the connection to the heating manifold. So, we recommend to install just EMMETI electrothermic heads on EMMETI manifolds.

Why is it usual to install a flow balancing valve before the manifold?

In heating systems, the balancing valve is installed to allow the correct water flow setting, which means a correct distribution of the heat in the heated areas. It is important to set the balancing valve correctly during the startup of the system.

Which is the function of the differential by-pass?

A differential by-pass, called also overpressure valve, is a valve which guarantees the chosen pressure difference between the two points of the system where it is installed. It is normally possible to set the pressure difference between 0,1 and 0,5 bar.

What is the electronic wiring centre for electrothermic heads designed for?

The wiring centre is designed to simplify the connection between thermostats and actuators, during the installation process. This way, it will be almost impossible to make mistakes during the installation, and the contact between electrical parts and water will be impossible during the system life. The wiring centre can be installed inside the metal boxes, together with the manifolds.

What does “Electrothermic head normally closed” mean?

A normally closed electrothermic head (NC) is designed to keep the water flow stopped if not connected. If the electrothermic head is equipped of micro end switch, the end switch is opened when the electrothermic head is closed, and it is closed when the electrothermic head is open.

How can I read the flow meter of a Top Way heating manifold?

The scale of the flow meters installed on heating manifolds is in liters/minute. The correct setting depends on the calculation of the designer, which is normally between 1,5 and 2 lt/min for standard residential applications.

Which is the maximum number of loops that can be connected to one circulator?

In a residential under floor heating or cooling system, the length of the loops is variable and the distance between the manifold and the circulator too. So, the number of loops connectable to a circulator depends on circulator characteristics, on the distance between heating manifold and circulator, and on the number of loops.

I am using the new plastic brackets on a Top Way heating manifold, but I cannot fit it in a Matalbox, how can I solve the problem?

Even using the new plastic brackets it is possible to fit the Top Way brass-heating manifold in all the metal boxes supplied by EMMETI. To reduce the depth of the manifold set it is necessary to change the  position of the fixing part on the bracket, as shown in the installation manuals.

Is it possible to replace valves and manifolds of the built in box for potable water manifolds (Hydrobox) after the installation is complete?

It is possible to replace the valve without braking the concrete, but to replace the manifolds for potable water or the fittings it is necessary to brake the concrete or the tiles.

Is it possible to replace the circulator of the Hydrobox Plus after the installation is completed?

Yes it is possible to replace the circulator without braking the concrete.

How can I install the built in box for potable water manifolds correctly?

To install it correctly it is important to use the protections against the concrete, to be placed where the valves handles are going to stay. The procedure is explained by a video available on EMMETI website.
