Radiator valves and lockshields are used to set and stop the water flow in radiators, fan coils, connected to hot or cold water distribution systems. Radiator valves and lockshields can be connected to steel pipes, copper pipes and Pex/Al/Pex multilayer pipes, using the Monoblocco EMMETI patented fittings. It is possible to upgrade the manual valve with a thermostatic valve, replacing the shutter with a thermostatic shutter, this operation can be easily done and it is not necessary to drain the system.

Which is the difference between manual, thermostatic and thermostatizable radiator valves?

The thermostatic radiator valves are designed to be used just with the thermostatic head, so they cannot work without it, and they are supplied just with a protection cup. The thermostatizable radiator valves can be used with the manual handle, or by removing the manual handle and installing a thermostatic head. Finally, manual radiator valves can be used just with the manual handle and they cannot work with a thermostatic head.

How can i set the thermostatic head to have a room temperature of 20 °C?

The room temperature of 20°C is reached when the thermostatic head is in position 3. Anyway the result depends on how the air moves in the room, curtains, protections of the radiator or wrong installations may cause a variation of the needed temperature.

Is it necessary to remove the brass plug to set a lockshield?

It is not necessary. On the side of the lockshield there is a white plastic plug, which can be removed to reach quickly the setting screw.

Once the thermostatic head is installed, the valve is not closing completely the radiator. Why?

It could be due to a wrong assembly, or the thermostatic head might have been fixed just partially on the valve It is important to check if the red and blue stoppers are installed or not as well. If they are installed, they limit the open and closed position.
